Welcome to BrittSavage.com, the home of the newly fashioned IRS Dress.

Here are some photos of the dress I made completely out of tax forms, tape and glue.

I'm a singer and this is the first dress I ever made. It took a month to make it and I hope you like it. I mostly used the beautifully pink Child and Dependent Care 1040A forms plus some paler pink Individual tax forms. I cut the sheets in strips and wove them together for the center of the dress.

I destroyed two paper shredders by shredding the bottom of the dress.

The bra part was the hardest. I nearly gave up a couple times trying to figure out how to assemble it.

My drummer/husband (Wes Little) helped make me a sewing mannequin by wrapping me up in duct tape and cutting me out of it. We then stuffed it with foam and stuck it on a mic stand.

The reason I decided to try making the dress is because my band got booked to play a big show on April 15th, Tax Day. The dreaded Tax Day is generally not a good night for a gig but I thought I could make it wacky fun by wearing a dress made out of tax forms and singing "Taxman" by The Beatles.

If you’re in Nashville, I hope you’ll stop by my gig-

MOD NIGHT-A GO GO!
April 15th at 12th & Porter
Live bands and 60’s Go Go from Music City Burlesque
8:30 Britt Savage & Twang Deluxe
9:30 The Shazam
$5 cover

I’ll be selling my dress for charity on ebay after my gig.
